Introduction of EDC

Economic development of a country is supported by entrepreneurship in several ways. It is a key contributor to innovativeness and product improvement and a pivotal ingredient to employment creation. Another important aspect to be considered is that in the context of the Indian market, entrepreneurship led economic growth is more inclusive and hence Governments, both at Centre and State level, have been taking initiatives to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem as they realize the benefits entrepreneurship brings to the economic growth of the country.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) was started with the object of promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development. It is established to develop the entrepreneurial perspective in every student life thus empowering them to excel as entrepreneurs. In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors) leading to unemployment problems and lack of proper utilization of human resources, the Entrepreneurship Development cell strives to identify talented youth to entrepreneurial works.

The cell plans to organize various programmes regarding Entrepreneurship development. These programmes are aimed at making the student community more enthusiastic towards entrepreneurial activity.

Objectives of Entrepreneurship Development Cell:

  1. To create awareness among the students of the Institution regarding Entrepreneurship as a career option.
  2. To conduct training programmes in the field of Entrepreneurial skill development.
  3. To develop entrepreneurship related course curriculum to incorporate in engineering programmes.
  4. To provide guidance and facilities.
